Coping Skills For The Classroom
Geared for teachers, this workshop will provide tools to assist with nurturing students and classroom management. Helping children with emotional literacy, conflict negotiation and communication skills are key building blocks built on applied behavioral concepts. We will also incorporate skills to share with parents to further support the child development and classroom effort.
The Tool Belt
Kids are hungry for ways to make things work better and to have things go more easily and smoothly in their lives. This is what a tool does. Think about what our teen—as well as our younger children—need to get the job, challenge, or issue resolved.
Designed for the teen and pre teen, this workshop introduces tools that can become the cornerstone for life long communication, conflict negotiation and coping skills. The metaphor of a Tool Belt is helpful; providing a visual image of a concept puts things into a clearer perspective. Nailing a nail without a hammer is challenging! We will discuss a variety of tools including: H.A.L.T., the Shake, ABC's, Litmus Paper, Mirror and the Teflon Suit.
